Sydney Flight College is part of Schofields Flying Club P/L, they also operate as Sydney Flight Charter and Sydney Flying Club. In continuous operation for over fifty years, they one of Australia’s largest aviation colleges and Sydney’s largest flying club. They operate a fleet of over 30 aircraft and conduct training from RPL through to CPL and ME CIR.
With a constant intake of full-time students, they are seeking a Chief Ground (Theory), instructor. As the Chief Ground Instructor at SFC you will report directly to the Head of Operations and indirectly to the RTO Manager. This is an opportunity to work within an exciting growing business with a great reputation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage and develop ground training programs;
- Develop and maintain teaching resources;
- Conducting ground theory training and briefings within the scope of the Part 61 MOS and SFC’s syllabus;
- Manage/Review/Develop training material as directed by the HOO;
- Maintaining electronic training files and all administrative tasks associated with ground instruction;
- Responsible for supervisiong and managing other theory instructors;
- Act as a student liaison for all theory and theory progression matters;
- Should you hold a current licence, medical and training endorsement you may also conducting flight training within the scope of the Part 61 MOS and SFC’s syllabus, this would be secondary to your ground role;
- All other projects and tasks as directed by your manager.
Required skills
- Languages: English
- You must currently hold the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this role;
- ATPL or a CPL with all ATPL Theory credits (Not required to be current);
- An instructor rating with a grade 1 or 2 training endorsement (Not required to be current);
- A Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating (Not required to be current);
- Significant, current experience in teaching and administrating aviation theory courses;
- A Diploma Qualification in an aviation discipline (preferably AVI50219 Diploma of Aviation – Commercial Pilots Licence or equivalent);
- CERT IV In training and assessment or a higher qualification in education or training;
- A high level of proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office applications ;
- The ability to efficiently write, edit and review electronic documents, presentations, and training materials;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- A tenacious work ethic and high professional standard;
- A collaborative approach and can-do attitude.
Desired skills
- Current Working with Children Check;
- Experience in teaching/writing a multi-crew cooperation course;
- Experience in the management and development of online training resources.
