The Maintenance Program Lead is responsible for leading Maintenance Program while overseeing requirements for the Technical Operations department. Coordinate work with Maintenance, Planning, Reliability and other stakeholders in supporting Fleet Operational requirements.

Job Description:

  • Manages the development, implementation, and optimization of the Maintenance Program
  • Ensures the fleet maintenance programs are effective for the fleet through periodic review of the respective programs
  • Provide recommendations to ensure that all engineering and maintenance requirements are appropriately negotiated and documented
  • Maintain close liaison with the reliability group to identify the need for adjustment in the Maintenance programs
  • Review and evaluate instructions for continual airworthiness (ADs, SB etc.) for maintenance program applicability and development of task cards as required
  • Collect technical, maintenance related data from internal IT systems, OEMs, and reports/publications/databases
  • Enhance the Maintenance Program, including component, structural, and powerplant as identified via available data. This includes monitoring the effectiveness of the nonscheduled Engineering controls structures and content
  • Implement Maintenance Program revisions by effectively communicating revisions to the rest of the maintenance department
  • Bridging phased in aircrafts to WestJet maintenance program and phased out aircrafts to OEM MPD
  • Assign tasks to maintenance programs / fleet configuration team staff and monitor task progress
  • Responsible for aircraft ASL load in TRAX
  • Liaise with Transport Canada PMI on MSA changes
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Maintenance Programs Analysts, participate in team and department meetings, identify, and explore synergies to continuously increase efficiencies and quality of WestJet Engineering
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering degree, Masters of Science preferred, in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Minimum 5-10 years engineering, technical or maintenance programs experience (or a combination of all) in the aircraft maintenance industry
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience working with ICA’s, OEM documentation, Regulatory data such as CAR’s (Canadian Aviation Regulations)
  • Experience with WestJet maintenance computer software program TRAX would be an asset
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead employees
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be a proven team player
