The National Parks and Wildlife Service Flight Team (ParkAir) has vacancies as a Fixed Wing Pilot. You will be responsible for ensuring all operations comply with CASA regulations as well as department policies, develop flight plans, provide specialised aviation operations including fire management, feral animal management, disaster relief, flora and fauna survey as well as the transport of personnel and equipment.
The position requires an extensive knowledge of the capabilities and specifications of the particular aircraft that are flown in the Flight Unit Cessna 208B EX G1000 panel.
Taskings regularly involve VFR, IFR and low-level operations in the same day.
Required skills
- C208 Type Rating: YES.
- Languages: English
- The unrestricted right to live and work in Australia;
- CASA CPL;
- CASA Class 1 flight crew medical certificate;
- 2000 hours of total flying experience;
- 100 hours on turbine aircraft;
- 300 hours of low-level flying;
- Night VFR, low level rating, command instrument rating with 2D and 3D and Manual Propeller Pitch Control rating;
- Knowledge of Air Operations in relation to fire management and mitigation, or the ability to gain the essential requirements to undertake this role;
- In-depth knowledge and experience in aerial work operations that effect the agency;
- Highly developed aviation skills particularly in remote terrain. The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team in all aspects of the role.

- Fire spotting/air attack experience;
- C208B experience;
- Garmin G1000 experience;
- Previous mustering experience;
- Extensive ‘bush strip’ and remote area experience.
