Description
Responsible for conducting crew member training and evaluations, standardization administration, i.e. flight records, AWIS, publications and references. This position is based in Afghanistan on a 90/30 rotation schedule. Complete fixed wing aircraft (DHC-8) qualification training then travel to Afghanistan. Provide fixed wing operational support for the Department of State INL/A program in support of the US Embassy, Afghanistan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct academic and hands-on performance training and administers evaluations to ensure crewmember proficiency and standardization of training in addition to maintaining individual IATFs and completing AWIS entries.
- Ensure all DHC-8 RCMs and NRCMs are fully integrated into the ATP, train and evaluates RCMs and NRCMs in their designated aircraft.
- Ensure compliance with all Standardization Directives, Aircrew Training Manuals, and ATP requirements.
- Develop individual flight training plans in support of the organizations mission and ATP.
- Oversee maintenance of crewmember flight records, weight and balance calculations, and risk assessments.
- Monitor crewmember proficiency in phases of mission planning and flight operations to ensure compliance with policies and directives.
- Maintain knowledge of additions and changes to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation integral to contract operations.
- Train and qualify crewmembers to fly all approved DHC-8 missions.
- Performs routine travel within Iraq, elsewhere outside CONUS and also within the CONUS s required.
- Performs other duties as assigned
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 1500 total fixed wing flight hours including 500 hours of turbine multi-engine time.
- 300 hours multi-engine pilot in command.
- 300 hours turbine multi-engine instructor pilot or check pilot time.
- Current FAA Class II Medical certificate.
- Department of State (DoS) Secret security clearance required.
- Unrestricted type rating is required and will be obtained before or incident to assignment.
Preferred:
- Prior US Military FW flight training qualification or civilian equivalent.
- Prior Instructor or Standardization pilot support to the DoS INL/A program.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating from the FAA.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED.
- FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman’s Certificate Airplane MEL.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- FAA CFI/CFII/MEI or military equivalent rating.
