HOURS
24-hour facility, required to work days, nights & weekends on a rotating schedule
POSITION OVERVIEW
NICHOLAS AIR is seeking a full-time Aircraft Dispatcher to join our team. This position will be responsible for effectively organizing crew schedules to maximize utility and serve our customer needs. Ensure that both current and upcoming trips are assigned to crews in the appropriate aircraft to meet the expectations of the scheduled trips. This role works closely with all crew members and other company departments to ensure efficiency.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact with crew members in regard to flight schedules regarding trip assignments
- Coordinate with the Flight Scheduling Department on all trips
- Ensure the appropriate crew is assigned to the applicable airplane on assigned trips
- Rearrange crew schedules due to unforeseen circumstances
- Willing to work a rotating AM/PM schedule. Will be required to work holidays and weekends as the schedule requires
- Ensure part 91 and 135 regulations are followed in crew scheduling practices
- Ensure that aircraft meet the performance capabilities of the trips assigned
- Take into account the weather, both during the journey and at the final destination
- Understanding of airline routes and landing characteristics of company aircraft. Reviewing aircraft weight, fuel loads, and cargo loads with pilots
- Responsible for operation and updating of the scheduling system (Airplane Manager)
- Monitor the flight schedule to ensure highest internal utilization
- Escalate any demand concerns to Management and make necessary recommendations
- Manage difficult or emotional crew member situations with courtesy and sensitivity
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Demonstrate aptitude in crewmember flight, duty and rest regulations
- Excellent oral/written communication and problem resolution skills are required to keep Crew Members well informed
- High-level computer experience to be used in scheduling systems and flight planning
- Communicating in a fast paced and often rapidly changing environment
- Experience with a 24/7 on-call rotation preferred
- Exhibit good learning and comprehension
- Detail oriented mindset a must
- Hands-on, high energy approach essential
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Degree or equivalent required
- 3 years of Aviation experience or college degree in Flight Operations or Aviation Management in lieu of experience
REQUIREMENTS
- This position is required to report daily to Oxford, MS Headquarters
- Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing
- Must pass a background check
- Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
