KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The  B1900 Direct Entry Captain (Pilot in Command or PIC) is responsible for safely operating Company aircraft according to regulations and established company policies and procedures, in addition to the safety of all crewmembers, cargo and/or passengers on board when the aircraft doors are closed.  Other responsibilities aligned with the client's Core Values include but are not limited to:

• Upholding safety by ensuring all work is accomplished in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and Company manuals. For example, confirming an exterior aircraft inspection is properly performed by a member of the flight crew prior to each flight.
• Maintaining a strong safety-focused environment by encouraging input from crewmembers and flight following personnel on all aspects relating to the safe operation of the aircraft and performance of crew duties.
• Promoting connectedness through fundamental Crew Resource Management (CRM) and ongoing communications involving all appropriate personnel during each active-duty period.
• Assuming responsibility (when appropriately trained) for tasks at outstations including fueling, bag handling, cargo handling, and deicing, because of our commitment to a successful team effort.
• Promoting commitment by engaging in courteous and respectful interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates.
• Cultivating integrity by calmly and professionally handing stressful situations that may arise, relying on training techniques and tools to manage each scenario as appropriate.
• Acting with integrity when following established regulations, policies and procedures to ensure personal fitness is satisfactory and compliant, duties will not be impeded, and safety is upheld.
• Promoting connectedness by participating in company and department initiatives to provide the highest level of customer service to passengers and seeking out ways to provide a consistently positive flying experience for community members and their items entrusted to the operation.
• Demonstrating reliability by completing all necessary documentation thoroughly and with care, filing paperwork with the appropriate departments as outlined in company policies, ensuring team members have the information needed to perform their duties accordingly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate has excellent customer service skills and leadership qualities, in addition to the required certifications and experience required of the position. Other qualifications include:

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess all current ratings to operate aircraft as PIC for a Part 135 operation, including meeting Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) minimums. ATP and a type rating for a Beechcraft 1900 is highly preferred.
• Must have a total of 1800 hours in a fixed wing aircraft, of which 250 hours will be multi-engine turbine flight time and at least 250 hours will be air carrier experience. Flight time in a Beechcraft 1900 and/or in Alaska are both highly preferred.
• Must have a valid First-Class Medical or the ability to obtain one prior to ground school.
• Must not have a record of any FAA Certificate Action or Administrative Action within the prior 24 months.
• Must be able to obtain a US Passport and be able to travel in and out of the US, including Canada.
• Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the position which require the ability to lift and maneuver 20 lbs. on a regular basis, and may involve lifting and maneuvering up to 65 lbs.
• Must be able to work all shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work safely in all types of weather, including extreme temperatures.
• Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug test.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
