Braathens Regional Airlines (BRA) DNA stretches way back to 1946 when Braathens SAFE, the Braathens family's very first airline, was founded. The company is majority owned by Braganza, a privately owned investment company based in Sweden and Norway. Braganza is owned by Per G. Braathen and his close family.

BRA has around one million domestic passengers annually and a market share of 30 percent. Recently, the new charter area was started up where BRA together with several different tour operators fly vacationers to various destinations around the Mediterranean. The aircraft fleet is constantly being expanded and the future looks exciting with great opportunities for development.

Since the first departure, BRA has been at the forefront of innovation in the aviation industry. In 2009, the company was environmentally certified according to ISO 14001 as the first commercial airline in the world and since the restart after the pandemic, BRA is determined to lead and drive the development for a more sustainable flight. This has resulted in the, at launch, the world-unique Bioflygbilgett, a new airline that flies with 50% biofuel, a close collaboration with the electric aircraft manufacturer Heart Aerospace and several other exciting projects.
