Description

As Corporate Jet Captain, operate company and managed aircraft, Part 91 and Part 135, as scheduled, to ensure the flight is conducted in a safe and efficient manner. In addition, this position performs pre-flight and post-flight inspections; completes necessary paperwork; helps with the professional development of SIC’s; and professionally represents Duncan Aviation on an executive level with business associates and customers.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Operates company and managed aircraft, Part 91 and Part 135, and ensures the flight is conducted in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the FAR/AIM, Aircraft Flight Manual, General Operations Manual, and our SMS Program.
  2. Performs pre-flight inspections, checks the maintenance log, weight & balance, weather, notams, files flight plans, and completes the FRAT sheet. Handles any special customer requests as needed.
  3. Performs post-flight inspections, clean-up, and paperwork. Prepares the aircraft for next flight with all provisions on-board for the safety and comfort of the passengers.
  4. Supports the SMS Program. Studies the FAR/AIM, General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, and other technical and regulatory publications to be knowledgeable of general aviation and charter requirements. Participates in company and FAA training courses as assigned. Updates aircraft manuals, conducts training and other duties as assigned.
  5. Monitors and evaluates SIC’s performance to help them progress as professional aviators.

Job Specific Requirements

  • License/Certificates: Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Airplane Multiengine Land Rating; First Class Medical; meets TSA security requirements; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required; extensive travel, including multiple overnights; abnormal hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Physical: Routinely lifts 50 lbs.; reads small print; hearing sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; works in confined spaces; works in heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
  • Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments; frequent high stress situations
  • Work Schedule: Must be available for all shifts

Education and Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3000 hours total flight time, with 1000 fixed wing multi-engine, and 500 fixed wing turbine.
  • Certified Flight Instructor Certificate is preferred
