Senior Flight Instructor
A Senior Flight Instructor is a member of the flight instructor team who reports to the Chief Flight Instructor. A Senior Flight Instructor provides flight instruction in company fleet aircraft and simulators per the syllabus or customer training plan. A Senior Flight Instructor will support the Chief Flight Instructor by assisting with the mentoring of junior flight instructors for future advancement within the company, as well as mentoring students towards their goals.

The Senior Flight Instructor position at Melbourne Flight Training includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety above all and ensure flight operations safety remains the #1 priority.
  • Support the Leadership Team and execute all company directives.
  • Teach and adhere to course syllabi and instruct students in accordance with Federal regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ensure all student records are kept and current.
  • Ensure flight instructors, flight training, and flight operations are conducted in regulatory compliance and in accordance with company Flight Operations Manual.
  • Actively engages in recruitment and hiring new flight instructors.
  • Conduct and maintain student and instructor standardization to promote the furtherance of the student body and the instructor cadre.
  • Conduct mock checkrides and stage checks for the student body.
  • Ensure all students and instructors are fully qualified for the flight operation to be conducted.
  • Work closely with the flight operations team and the Leadership Team to maintain policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with directives.
  • Assist the Chief Flight Instructor with course and technical publications development.
  • Manage relationships with maintenance personnel, students, customers, vendors, the assistant chief flight instructor, and upper management.

Qualifications:

  • Possess and Maintain Company Core Values.
  • Instructs flight students with the “Heart of a Teacher”.
  • CFI-A, CFII, and MEI Required.
  • Cirrus Experience preferred.
  • Holds appropriate supervisory experience, certificates, and appointments.
  • Holds a minimum Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate Class Ratings, an Instrument Rating, and an FAA 3rd Class Medical Certificate.
  • Has logged 1000 PIC flight hours.
  • Holds appropriate Certified Flight Instructor ratings and has at least 500 hours of dual instruction given.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $36.00 per hour
