Position Title: Flight Instructor
Position Reports to: Asst. Chief Flight Instructor & Director of Flight Instruction
Location: Fargo Jet Center – Fargo, ND
Primary Operational Objectives:
A Flight Instructor is responsible to represent the Flight School in a professional manager by teaching our clients how to fly in a variety of settings using methods that include textbook education, simulators and live flight training.
Essential Job Functions:
Contact and meet with potential new customers, conduct tours of the facilities and familiarize clients of Flight School’s training courses.
Train clients in subjects just as aircraft systems, operations procedures, handling emergencies, problem analysis, aircraft navigation, radio operations and aerodynamics.
Regularly schedule each assigned student to ensure satisfactory progress through the course materials and inform supervisor of any delays in the training.
Maintain flight scheduled and follow up on all potential flight students or active students who have no scheduled additional classes.
Responsible for accurately maintaining all appropriate records to include student training records, logbooks, and computer records.
Provide recurrent training for current pilots in the community.
Provide insurance qualification training for pilots renting flight school aircraft.
Use sales techniques to help promote company services, inventory and other flight classes.
Attend company sponsored aviation events such as seminars, symposiums, open houses, and air shows.
Must be able to work scheduled hours as directed by your supervisor.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
Must hold an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Airplane-Single Engine Land Rating.
Must hold an FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with an Airplane Single-Engine Rating.
Must hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
Must have excellent communication both non-verbal and verbal
Must have excellent customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Must have basic computer knowledge as appropriate for client/airplane scheduling, record keeping and client/company communication.
Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision and work well as part of a team
No instructional experience necessary; however, flight experience in Cessna 172 preferred.
Ability to have flexible schedule; including days, evenings, nights and weekend hours.
Physical Demands:
- Regular lifting of 50lbs
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, pulling, pushing
