Mark Anthony Group is looking for an experienced Global 6500 Captain / Safety Management System (SMS) Manager. Reporting into the Chief Pilot, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a private Global 6500 aircraft and the safety of all passengers on board.

Captain Responsibilities

  • Responsible to verify the aerodromes and routes are suitable for performance
  • Process any flight crew member reports and take any necessary follow-up action
  • Maintain customs requirements for the department
  • Ensure navigation database and charts are updated
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training and licensing records, including Passports, Medicals and Licence Document booklets
  • Sponsor SOP’s and checklists as appropriate and ensure that these reflect best industry practice
  • Maintain an effective flight safety organization, fostering open communication, information sharing and just culture
  • Motivate and coach team as required
  • Carry out line flying as either PIC or SIC accordingly
  • Duties as assigned by Chief Pilot

Safety Management System (SMS) Responsibilities

  • Manage the SMS to CARs 604.203 and industry best practice
  • Maintain a reporting system which provides and expedites a free flow of flight safety information
  • Maintain the safety oversight program
  • Maintain the record-keeping procedures in respect of all documents relating to the safety management system
  • Maintain the emergency response procedures and testing program
  • Communicate to the Company any finding produced by the safety management system in respect of a hazard to aviation safety
  • Maintain the Baldwin SMS system
  • Gather any information relating to aviation safety, disseminate and take appropriate action to mitigate any hazard to aviation safety

When a finding produced by the safety management system is reported:

  • Determine what corrective actions are necessary to address that finding if any, and carry out those actions
  • Keep a record of any determination and the reason for that determination
  • Notify the Company of any deficiency that reduces the effectiveness of all or part of the safety management system, and of the corrective action carried out

 

Required skills

  • Global 6500 Type Rating: YES.
  • Languages: English
  • TC ATPL;
  • TC Class 1 flight crew medical certificate;
  • The unrestricted right to live and work in Canada;
  • A valid Canadian passport allowing unrestricted travel;
  • Ability to obtain Airport Security Clearance (RAIC);
  • SMS management experience;
  • Extensive corporate/private international operations experience;
  • Experience in corporate aviation and regulatory processes;
  • Experience working with flight planning and flight scheduling software;
  • High level of computer-based competency.
